Are the Celtics really missing Rondo?

Hey folks, it's really been a long time since I updated this blog and I have to say I wish I could have more time like I used to but now I'm living outside Spain for a short period of time and I have tons of work to do.
Nevertheless, I always have time to watch Celtics games and talk about the best team in the world in my Twitter account (y'all can follow): twitter.com/allboutceltics

So, let's get into business. When I wrote my last post "Avery Bradley is back" the Celtics were desperately in need of help as their record was 14-16 and when Bradley came back, Celtics won 6 straight games that put them in within a 20-17 record. But unexpectedly the Celtics lost again 6 straight games and lost Rondo for the rest of the season.
The Celtics were looking lost after that devastating news about losing their superstar point guard. But something flourished from the Celtics players hearts which we can surely call it "Celtic Pride". Since that first night without Rondo (that the C's played against Miami and won), the Celtics are 14-4 with a record of 34-27 and trying to get as high as possible in the standings. In addition, Doc's team has also lost Sullinger and Barbosa for the rest of the season (Leandro was traded though). So we really need to give credit to these group of guys for what they been doing lately. But what have been the main "ingredients" for success without Rondo? Let's have a look at it:

Green has been really agressive on both sides of the court
- The resurgence of Jeff Green as the sixth man of the Celtics. Green has averaged 14,6 pts, 4 rb, 2,1 ast & 1,5 blk in 31,2 minutes in the absence of Rondo and has step up making him worth his big contract. He's often in NBA.com highlights and his type of game allows him to control every aspect of the game which makes him a ferocious defender and a good offensive player. Now he's not that inconsistent player he used to be because his new role has helped him to feel confident and uncover his potential. He also has given us the Celtics fans some hope for the future.

- Others Celtics players production has improved such as Bradley, who has showed his best offensive game and his tireless defense, Terry, who's been defending and hitting nice 3pts, Lee, who's given athleticism to the lineup and of course Pierce and KG who have been magnificent by putting the team on their backs and shutting down criticism from the media.

- The additions of Jordan Crawford & Terrence Williams have also helped. Jordan was known for having a "crazy" head and bad defense but he's been adjusting well so far to Doc's system and he's playing pretty good defense too. We haven't seen much of Terrence Williams because of his lack of minutes but we saw a nice stat line against the suns when he put up 9 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in  which he played the point guard really well. Thanks to that, Danny has signed him for two years
The Celtics have also signed 2 bigs from the China association, the former bobcat DJ White and the former Wizard Shavlik Randolph. So let's see how they contribute too.

- Team Chemistry has been really important in this big run too. Players like Lee and Terry admitted that losing an all-star caliber player was really bad (see Rose's case) but that they would stay united no matter what happened. Here is when you can really believe in that sentence which says: "WE, not ME"

So, concerning the question, are the Celtics missing Rondo? My answer is yes, but not quite as a player but as the leader figure of this team. But, will we miss him in the Playoffs? Maybe, but don't forget guys: #WeBelieve.

[Spanish Version]

Go Celtics!!
